How do I register my child at Letterkenny Community Childcare CLG?

You can register by calling in person, by phone 0749176667/0857479052, or email, communitychildcare.letterkenny@gmail.com

You will be informed if there are places available or your child’s name will be placed on a waiting list.

If there are places available you will be emailed an enrolment form Once the form is return the Childcare place will be confirmed

Is there a settling in period for a child

Yes if the child is registered for full day we settle the child over a two week period by introducing them to staff, setting and other children , by asking them to attend for a few hours a day until they had stayed successfully for a 5 hour period.

If the child is registered for ECCE, they will attended on phased basis for the first 2 weeks

Do you provide Meals?

Yes, we provide 4 meals per day for children attending on a full time basis

Part time children receive a hot lunch

ECCE children are requested to bring a healthy lunch box

Children under 1 year parents re requested to provide their food

What does my 3 year old need to bring starting ECCE?

They will need a water bottle , so they can have fresh water to drink during the day

A spare set of clothes

What should my child wear to ECCE?

Accepted Answer

Loose clothing as they will be very busy!

Clothing that can withstand paint, play dough and other messy play.

Please do not send your child in in special outfits as they will be encouraged to be independent and that will be messy!

What should my child wear in hot weather?

Accepted Answer

Families will be asked to supply the Childcare Centre with sunscreen and a sun hat to be retain in the Centre.

No bare shouldered tops. No Open toed sandals.

Light clothes that you child can move freely in.

Cover up as much of your child’s skin as possible to protect them from the sun.

What do I do if my child is sick?

If your child is unwell, please phone the child care centre to let them know details of the illness in case other families need to be informed

Can my child attend if they are taking an antibiotic?

Accepted Answer

Yes they can but not till 24 hours after they have received the first dose.

Once the child returns to the service parents / guardians will be requested to complete a form detailing the type of medication , dose, frequency of the dose and how the medication is to be stored.

What will I need to bring when my baby starts in Childcare?

You will need a copy of your child’s daily routine, sleeping, eating times etc

Nappies and wipes/ cotton wool

Spare clothes

For children under 1 year parents must provide their food and bottle already made.
